Despite the irony, I’ve titled this new series of work “COLORS” in an attempt to spark a conversation about the inner turmoil brought on by external circumstances. I’d like to convey a message explaining that it is perfectly acceptable to acknowledge something for what it truly is. Sometimes hardship is just hardship, without the poetry. The artwork comprising this collection will primarily consist of digitally drawn snapshots portraying different challenging aspects of life—the rawest moments of pain and exhaustion. Undoubtedly, we do learn from past experiences, be they positive or negative. However, not every adversity needs or deserves a silver lining. Personally, I have come to discover that the most effective path to healing involves accepting and acknowledging a situation for what it genuinely is.
